Interreg 2 Seas Mid-Term Event - MET-CERTIFIED looks back at the event

April 28, 2019

MET-CERTIFIED looks back at an inspiring two-day Mid-Term Review event by Interreg 2 Seas in ICC Ghent (25 & 26 April ’19). This event hosted almost 400 participants and many of the running projects presented their progress with a stand in the exhibition hall. The two-(half) day event was packed with interesting plenary sessions and workshops.

Highlights for MET-CERTIFIED were:

Workshop innovating in market niches

MET-CERTIFIED lead partner Peter Scheijgrond (DMEC) was part of a discussion panel for the workshop ‘innovating in market niches’, where he explained the need for internationally coordinated actions in complex fields like regulation and certification to have a significant impact. He also joined the discussion on adaptation to the needs of target groups and the 2 Seas area being a testing lab for market niche through the combination of different expertise.

Exhibition hall

MET-CERTIFIED was represented as one of the Interreg 2 Seas projects with a stand in the exhibition hall. The stand attracted many visitors, who stopped for a chat about the project (or our intriguing ‘polaroid’ picture line), to take home a brochure or join our newsletter mailing list.

Workshop Target Group Involvement

MET-CERTIFIED’s communication officer Veerle Willaert (UGent Power-Link) was asked to join the panel on Target Group Involvement where she shared her expertise on this topic with many examples from her experience in the MET-CERTIFIED communication work package. The discussion involved defining and reaching the right target groups, involvement of all the project partners and the different communication channels to reach different groups of people.

Video Awards

The MET-CERTIFIED video on the need for certification for marine energy from an technology’s point of view participated in the Mid-Term Review video awards. Unfortunately we didn’t make the head prize, but all participants were put in the spotlight for their communication efforts!
