Ghent University (Power-Link) (BE)

About Ghent University (Power-Link)

Ghent University is a top 100 university and one of the major universities in Belgium. Their 11 faculties offer a wide range of courses and conduct in-depth research within a wide range of scientific domains. In the MET-CERTIFIED project, Ghent University is involved through its energy knowledge platform, called Power-Link.

Power-Link wants to support the transition towards a sustainable and resilient society by optimising the sharing of energy knowledge and by facilitating energy related research (within the context of Ghent University and on Flemish and European level). More concretely Power-Link initiates and supports scientific research projects on sustainable and renewable energy, and encourages innovation and implementation of new energy technologies.
In this aspect, Power-Link can rely on a broad quadruple helix network, by which it is interlinking the industry and research community, policy makers and end users. Power-Link is located on the GreenBridge Science Park in West-Flanders. On this park a coastal and ocean basin with unique test scale facilities for o.a. wave and tidal energy convertors will soon be constructed and will be managed by Ghent University.

Role of Ghent University (Power-Link) in MET-CERTIFIED

In the MET-CERTIFIED project, Power-Link will deploy an innovation manager who will monitor, identify, gather, analyse and transfer the knowledge in the domain of marine energy technologies in the 2 Seas Region. This with the purpose to stimulate the further development and transfer of new marine energy technologies to the industry and to get these low carbon technologies adopted in the 2 Seas region. Furthermore Power-Link is also responsible for the communication and dissemination of the project results.
